The Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED) program is a short-term exchange program offered by Global Affairs Canada. SEED scholarships are facilitated through institutional collaborations and student exchange agreements between post-secondary institutions in Canada and their partner institutions in ASEAN countries.
Institutions in ASEAN member states interested in sending their students to Canada should explore student exchange agreements with Canadian institutions. Students wishing to pursue short-term studies or research in Canada should review the eligibility criteria and contact their institution’s international office for application details. Canadian institutions must apply on behalf of eligible candidates.

II. FAQ
-
I have received an Acceptance Letter for the student exchange program from the Canadian institution. Does this acceptance automatically include selection for the SEED scholarship?
=> No. The student exchange program of Canadian institutions and the SEED scholarship are two separate processes. Therefore, the results will be announced independently.
-
What is UIT’s policy on credit recognition and transfer? Who should I contact for support?
=> The recognition of credit equivalency is handled by the Office of Undergraduate Academic Affairs and your current Faculty. These departments are responsible for reviewing and determining whether the credits you earn at Canadian institutions can be counted toward your UIT degree program. You can consult with them directly for further assistance.
-
When will be the scholarship announcement?
=> Canadian institutions will announce the result once it is available.
-
If I am not selected for the scholarship, can I still participate in the student exchange program at the Canadian institution?
=> Yes. Students receiving an Acceptance Letter from the Canadian institution but are not selected for the scholarship can still join the exchange program by self-funding. This means they will be responsible for all expenses the scholarship would have covered, including but not limited to: visa/permit fees, airfare, health insurance, living and transportation costs, and study materials.
-
Can UIT change the SEED scholarship application criteria so that first-year students can also participate?
=> All eligibility criteria and instructions for the SEED scholarship and the student exchange program are provided by Global Affairs Canada and Canadian institutions. If any UIT student has suggestions or concerns regarding these aspects, we kindly encourage you to reach out directly to Global Affairs Canada and the relevant Canadian institutions, as they are best positioned to address them.
Please understand that UIT does not have the authority to modify the established requirements. Therefore, we won't be able to provide further information or answer questions related to changing these guidelines.
